Link Building: Getting inbound links for your dental website
Google uses a number of different techniques to figure out which dental websites should be shown to patients searching for a dentist, but one of the most important ones is how many other websites are linking to your dental website. Although this is a bit of a legwork, it's very easy to do. All you need to do is ask the owners of other websites to add a link on their website to yours. If you like, you can offer to add one to their website as well. Win-win!
To get started. make a list the contains the following groups:
- Dental school classmates
- Local business owners that have websites that are your patients
- dental labs, supply companies etc you buy from
- Specialists and other medical practitioners (pediatricians, mds, etc) that you refer patients to
- Insurance companies that have directories of dentists in their network
- city, regional, and state dental associations you belong to
- Chamber of commerce, city government website, county websites etc
This is a simplified version of the list we use for link building, but if you go through these 7 groups and contact everyone that falls into them, you should have plenty of potential links - none of them spam.
A few more tips
- Ask them to link to the same address: http://www.yourdomainaname.com
- Followup with links requests and make sure it got done - especially if you added a link to your website!
